Stepping up action on dangerous fireworks
As fireworks season approaches, London Borough of Harrow is stepping up action to tackle dangerous and antisocial firework use. Warning signs will be displayed in parks, traders and buyers will receive advice on safe use, CCTV will monitor hotspots, and Trading Standards will reinforce rules on sales and storage.
From 26th October to 10th November, officers will patrol hotspots and target misuse. Last year, 153 visits prevented 30 dangerous incidents and led to 62 Community Protection Warnings.
A dedicated webpage will be available soon to pin problems on a map, check where officers will be working and report concerns when the hotline is closed.
