The Metropolitan police installed temporary safety arches in two Harrow branches of McDonald’s today, to show that McDonald’s and Harrow is a place to feel safe.  There was no incident in the town centre just an opportunity for police to engage with individuals about the importance of not carrying weapons.

The Harrow Business Improvement District team joined the police at the Station Road branch to reinforce the message and chat to customers.  Local franchisee, Kurt Jansen, said: “In London there were over 30 stabbings of young adults in 2021. As a community we want to highlight the desperate need for us to pull together to tackle this.  Life is sacred, many families will have suffered a tremendous loss. We appreciate for many of our customers this may have added a small inconvenience to their meal, however when small communities pull together the message becomes so much louder.”
